About the Role
As a Volunteer Administration Assistant in a charity, you'll be working closely with a team of
passionate and dedicated people who are working hard to make a difference. Although you may
only be asked to help a couple days a week, your support is invaluable because you'll be
helping to keep the office fully stocked and fully functioning. Duties could be anything from
booking meetings to dealing with public inquiries and data entry.

What's involved
To provide an efficient and professional administration service
Contact and communication with stakeholders - explaining the organisational aims of the organisation and creating relationships and collaboration with other organisations.
Office based work - assisting other volunteers in positions such as Marketing, Funding, Finance, HR and Legal.
Other office-based tasks such as recording meeting minutes, creating lists, creating posters, updating newsletter etc.
Assisting the centre manager in creating agenda etc.
Who is the role suitable for

Good command of the English Language
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good interpersonal skills and a non-judgemental approach
Punctual and reliable
Ability to work in a team
Flexible
Experience handling and managing data
Impeccable organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Willing to uphold the organisation’s values and comply with organisational policies
Willing to make use of opportunities given, e.g., for training, mentoring etc.
Able to carry out tasks within agreed guidelines

Extra Information
Training
Volunteers will be given induction and training appropriate to the specific tasks to be undertaken.
Support
Volunteers will be offered support and supervision as appropriate, and this is discussed during induction. Arrangements vary according to the volunteer, and may include telephone support, group meetings or one to one review.
Resources
The development of training and support for volunteers is a high priority for us, in order to equip volunteers with the necessary information and skills to conduct their tasks.
Additionally, all volunteers are offered free access to some of the Mindfulness training courses and events run by us.
Expenses
Expenses that can be reimbursed:
Travel
Travel to and from the volunteer placement will be reimbursed at the following rate:
20p per mile by car
10p per mile by motorcycle
If a volunteer uses their vehicle for work purposes the following will apply:
40p per mile by car
20p per mile by motorcycle
Volunteers, who are required to use their own vehicle during the course of their duties, must have a full current driving licence, MOT certificate and business class insurance. Documents must be produced for, and checked periodically by, the Line Manager. Bus and train tickets will be reimbursed on production of receipt/ticket.
Lunch
Food will be offered from the café if volunteering for more than four hours consecutively, e.g., 10 am – 2 pm.
Drinks
We provides free tea, coffee and water for all staff and volunteers.
